Nuweetooun School's 2009 Graduation Day
Our Graduation Day was very beautiful this year. Long-time student Suede Spears graduated from Nuweetooun School on June 25, 2009. The ceremony began with a grand entry to the drum. This was followed by a welcome dance. During the graduation ceremony the Investigators from grades 5-8 played eastern woodland flute pieces.
Suede was gifted her flute.
All students shared Mandala poems and art they created this spring thanks to a cultural arts grant from Rhode Island College.
All students received their academic achievement awards as part of the ceremony. Suede then gifted those who have helped her thus far in her life and education. She offered beautiful beaded earrings that she created as gifts for those most special to her.
Suede will be attending The MET School in Providence in the fall for her high school experience. We all extend congratulations to Suede for her success. We will miss her.
Nuweetooun School thanks everyone who attended the ceremony to support our youth and celebrate their many successes.
